Emotional Fitness

The demands or modern society from work, family and other areas of our lives means that we can ever so quickly get out of control, become overwhelmed and sometimes lose the things that we most value.  Building emotional fitness includes becoming more resilient before the crisis not waiting until you are in a crisis.

This workshop provides skills in:

  • Understanding how emotionally fit and robust you are
  • Developing a personalised emotional fitness and resilience pathway
  • How to support friends and family to become more emotionally fit
  • Practical and strategic skills that you can start using immediately

The Workshop material is based on highly evidence based research.  Each participant will receive a workshop manual which will help understand and navigate through the workshop and can act as an ongoing resource. Your workshop/course leader is registered Psychologist John Littleton

It is  a 9 hour course of 3 sessions of 3 hours. Next course begins Sat.TBA. at 2pm. The Course Fee is $146

Transformation through Mindfulness

To achieve real transformational change, it helps if you have an experienced knowledgeable guide and teacher to help you.
Developing the habit of mindfulness allows you to experience life from a different perspective based on self acceptance, calmness and insight where you learn to be more in control of yourself and your emotions
John Littleton is a registered psychologist who has been practicing mindfulness for over 5 years. He invites you to join other travellers on the journey towards a deeper sense of peace.
These sessions are designed to move from theory to practice to competence and make real change in your life Great If you are a beginner and some basic understanding of mindfulness or have already started being mindful and wish to enhance and grow your skills. Course runs for 6 consecutive Mondays starting 7pm Monday 10th Nov.  Cost is $99

Mental Health First Aid

The Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) program is a highly professional and expertly developed workshop designed to reduce the incident and impact of mental health conditions, by helping develop the skills in recognising and intervening until professional help can be provided.  MHFA is a certified course, Australian made, based on Australian research and run in over 28 countries around the world. 

MHFA teaches you how to recognise and respond to the following mental health conditions:

  • Depression and anxiety
  • Psychotic based disorders
  • Substance misuse
  • Suicidal and self harm problems
  • Panic attacks and trauma
  • Severe effects of alcohol and substance misuse
  • Aggressive behaviour

It will give you:

  • Knowledge of the possible causes or risk factors for these mental health problems.
  • Awareness of the evidenced based medical, psychological and alternative treatments available.
  • The capacity to identify someone developing a mental health condition or who has a mental health condition and engage in supporting them.
  • The skills to identify a person in crisis, be able to support them whilst getting them help.

The program also provides you with a comprehensive manual as an on going resource.  You receive a certification and if you are a trained allied health professional the training can be used as part of your professional development requirements. Workshop in Self Discovery and Personal Development

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is the most popular person development tool in the world with over 60 years of research and development.  The MBTI Workshop is designed to help you:

Authenticate your true self by learning to value your strengths
Understand how others differ from you and appreciate the value of those differences.
Improve communication and understanding between people, especially partners, work colleagues and family members
Identify your “areas for growth”, learn how to turn vulnerabilities into strengths.

This 8 hour course will be run at the Wellness Centre by psychologist John Littleton who has 10 years experiencing running MBTI workshops for the corporate, community and welfare sector.  Come and experience increased understanding in at fun and supportive environment.  You will be provided with a workshop manual for on as well as other personalised resources to support your ongoing personal development. Your workshop/course leader is registered Psychologist John. The Mask and the Mirror

The Mask and the Mirror is a 12-hour introductory course on the Jungian concept of the ‘shadow’ and its role and purpose in becoming whole and grow to our full potential by incorporating our ‘least self’.  The course is run in a  creative environment that allows for safe intrapersonal exploration

The outcomes of the course is for participants to:

  • Have a greater understanding of what the shadow is, how it was formed and how it impacts on our lives.
  • Be able to understand the importance ‘shadow work’ has in becoming more whole, developing a greater sense of peace with yourself and realising abilities that have laid undiscovered.
  • Define our own shadow’s characteristics and content through different methodologies.
  • Understand the ‘blessings’ shadow work can provide through starting to engage with our shadow and discover our own rich treasures.

Your workshop/course leader is registered Psychologist John Littleton. The course is run in 2-hour sessions over 6 weeks
