What have you achieved from your classes so far?
Not only have I achieved the initial physical benefits (increased flexibility and a stronger core) but also spiritually nad emotionally I feel renewed and a sense of well-being and calmness.

What are your goals?
To be a fit and healthy individual who can be more active in my grandchildren’s lives and feel more centred in navigating my way through everyday life.
What do you enjoy most about your classes?

I enjoy the comradery of the others in our class, the teachers participation and encouragement I get from her expertise and the overall fantastic results I discover and utilise after every class.

How do you feel after your workout?
I feel a sense of euphoria, sensitised and ready to face the world. I look forward to every class and it is without a doubt “my” time to unwind, relax and feel accomplished. I feel exhilarated, better than any coffee could make me feel.
Do you have any advice to others wanting to start living a healthier lifestyle?

I would definitely recommend these classes to anyone wanting to start a new, clean, healthier lifestyle. Personally, I initially didn’t think such classes could not only produce a stronger and flexible me, but also the spiritual and emotional feelings I feel that enhance my way of life and that I use everyday to deal with stress and unpleasantness. These classes can truly inspire a happier and healthier lifestyle and more people should become aware of its natural beauty that it instills in us.

What are your goals?

To be healthy and strong long term. To have less lower back relapses. To be at advanced pilates level.

What do you enjoy most about your classes?
The variety of movement and classes. No class is the same. The feeling of achievement and growth. The people are engaging and present.

How do you feel after your workout?
Strong, tall and positive, ready to do everything else I need to.

Do you have any advice to others wanting to start living a healthier lifestyle?
Set small goals and celebrate the successes instead of berating the failures. Get back on the cart do day, don’t wait till tomorrow.

Improved posture, improved flexibility

What are your goals?
Short term – be able to sit in half lotus
Long term – increase flexibility and balance, postpone age-related stiffening of joints due to artiritis.

What do you enjoy most about your classes?
Moving while concentrating on what I need to do.
Exercising in a ‘non-competitive’ atmosphere.
Giving and receiving support from others in class.
Being able to move more confidently.

How do you feel after your workout?
Energised, ready to face the day. More able to keep depression at bay. Having my mind as well as my body feeling good.

Do you have any advice to others wanting to start living a healthier lifestyle?
Just do it. Forget about embarrassment/self consciousness. Classes are very supportive.

What have you achieved from your classes so far?
I have achieved an improvement in my core strength, flexibility and overall fitness despite having osteoporosis. I have also improved in my co-ordination and balance – somewhat challenging for a woman of 70 + !!

What are your goals?
TO continue to work on strengthening the deep core muscles and gain more flexibility

What do you enjoy most about your classes?
Elizabeth is an excellent teacher with a very high standard. She also has a sense of humour which makes each class lots of fun as well as being dynamic and challenging. I enjoy her clear explanation of the benefits of each movement to suit individual needs.

How do you feel after your workout?
I feel very relaxed and energised with less pain in the joints and a strengthening of my back and core.

Do you have any advice to others wanting to start living a healthier lifestyle?
If you want to gain flexibility and strength you should join Pilates for a full body conditioning workout achieved through a gentle approach to exercise incorporating breathing and precise movements.
I would recommend 2-3 times per week for maximum gain.

What have you achieved from your classes so far?
Lots of great technical advice and knowledge, when and how to breathe, and to focus on my body alignment and awareness, also noticing my flexibility and strength gradually improving.

What are your goals?
TO have a flatter tummy with strong core muscles, to narrow my waist, to become stronger and to have great flexibility.

What do you enjoy most about your classes?
The instructors, they all have their own unique strengths and qualities:
Elizabeth – for her knowledge and technical tips and advice and flexibility
Jennifer, Jacqueline and Arkie – for their fantastic, challenging classes
Anne – for her beautiful calm and relaxed and challenging classes
Nicole – for her challenging classes and nice touch – but far too late at night … sorry!

How do you feel after your workout?
Fantastic, I feel stretched and strengthened, yet relaxed and focused, proud of my self for trying my best to make a huge difference to my body and I like the other participants – they are very friendly!

Do you have any advice to others wanting to start living a healthier lifestyle?
Go to pilates/yoga/barre attack at least 3 to 7 times per week, eat a healthy balanced diet, ride a bike, walk the beach, dance (mix up your exercise), relax smile and don’t forget to laugh!

What have you achieved from your classes so far?
Increased flexbilit, increased fitness, motivation, positivity and a sense of calm. I am much stronger than I was before joining up.

What are your goals?
To keep fit and maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle. To have strength and flexibility for years to come.

What do you enjoy most about your classes?
I enjoy the challenge of barre attack with Jacqueline. I also love doing Hatha yoga 2 days a week. Over the past few months I have noticed I am much stronger in yoga poses which is satisfying.

How do you feel after your workout?
I feel energised after a challenging barre attack class and a lightness and empowerment after Hatha yoga.
Do you have any advice to others wanting to start living a healthier lifestyle?
I have recommended yoga and barre attack to work colleagues and friends. It has helped me to be more mindfull of my health. I have quit smoking and cut down significantly any alcohol intake. Committing yourself can really help reach your goals. I am definitely a happier person and am able to use breathing practices learned in yoga to calm me in stressful situations.

Toning, better breathing, strength, posture, flexibility and overall better well being

What are your goals?
To continue exercising as an ongoing routine, become better at classes, lose some weight and improve my general wellness.

What do you enjoy most about your classes?
It’s achievable, enjoyable, fun and it works. Any age can do it and we laugh throughout the session (which is a first).

How do you feel after your workout?
Great! Improves the day as your body feels good, mind feels good and general wellness is improving so you do more in your day and feel good for it.

Do you have any advice to others wanting to start living a healthier lifestyle?
It might be hard to start but … failure is not trying. Take the first step and then another and another. The class goes quickly and before you know it you’ll be enjoying it and feeling better for doing it. I’m 59 – have a torn cartilage in one knee and have some back and neck restrictions (from car accidents) and feel proud of my achievements, especially starting in winter. I now love attending classes.
