Process Oriented Psychotherapists have a non-judgmental approach when working with clients (individuals and couples) and their issues. All parts of the client's conscious and unconscious world, including their experience, are seen to be both important and meaningful. Process work is unique in it's approach to working with the emotions, thoughts and the body's sensations & imbalances from a holistic way where the person is not viewed as "broken" or "damaged". Dreamwork & creative tools and the acknowledgement of "altered states" are often incorporated into the journey of the person.
What is psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is the comprehensive and intentional engagement between therapist and client for the healing, growth or transformation of emotional, physical, relationship, existential and behavioural issues, or of chronic suffering, through well-founded relational processes. The aim of psychotherapy is to support increased awareness and choice and facilitate the development, maturation, efficacy and well-being of a client.
What does a psychotherapist do?
Psychotherapists and clients work together to understand conscious aspects of the momentary experience of the client as well as bringing aspects that are out of awareness into awareness through diverse psychotherapeutic processes.
What Issues does a psychotherapist deal with?
Psychotherapists work with people who have a wide range of presenting concerns. Some such concerns are: depression, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, eating disorders, self-harm, illness, addiction, grief, trauma, abuse, relationship difficulties in personal life or at work, communication, intimacy and commitment problems, and a yearning for more from life.
Many people enter psychotherapy because they are curious about themselves. They may seek to gain a more accurate and fuller picture of themselves, insights into why they behave the way they do, why they relate the way they do, and understanding of patterns that play out in their life.
Some clients are functioning satisfactorily and are seeking connection, revitalisation, meaning and increased creativity.

Ramsay practices as a Holistic Counsellor and Psychotherapist. He has been working in Clinical Practice for 7 years.
During that time, Ramsay has worked in Australia and the USA, with organisations including Relationships Australia, The Metavision Institute, The Rivers Way Clinic in Portland Oregon and the Social Circus Project, also in Portland Oregon.
Ramsay is on the teaching faculty at the Metavision Institute, where he teaches Holistic Perception for training psychotherapists, as well as developing creative exercises for group development.
Ramsay practices Process Oriented Psychology, an awareness paradigm arising from Jungian Analysis. Process-oriented psychology, also known as process work, is a holistic psychotherapeutic approach that suggests unconscious material can be experienced physically, interpersonally, or environmentally. Process Work develops the relationship between identity and being, the known and the unknown, and supports clients to establish meaningful and sustainable solutions to life’s problems.
His work is about discovering our deeply human nature, and then finding ways to apply that directly in our lives. A typical session might include movement work, role play, creativity, dream work, relationship work and field dynamics.
Ramsay has a wealth of experience working as a creative artist and recognises that art practice can provide surprising and insightful access to the unknown.
Ramsay’s work is trauma-informed, 12-step friendly, and socially aware.
Ramsay is Professionally Associated with PACFA.
