Imagine an exercise program that you really look forward to, engages you and leaves you refreshed & alert with a feeling of physical and mental well-being. The Pilates Method of body conditioning will do all of this...and more.
Pilates Matwork is a body conditioning programme designed to teach efficient movement patterns and provide general well-being using controlled exercises and deliberate breathing patterns on your mat. These classes will include the use of small Pilates apparatus including Pilates magic circles, resistance bands, Pilates balls & light weights.
Learn to bring your awareness to Pilates movements while focusing on the breath and the way our body feels as it moves. The mind's thoughts and chatter will naturally reduce when paying attention to the exercises.
Pilates is suitable for all fitness levels and no previous experience is necessary.
We all seek to find our tribe. Joining the Wellness Centre Wollongong classes can introduce us to like-minded people with similar interests. Pilates, Yoga and Barre classes are great places to meet others focused on healthy exercise, self-improvement and growth. Members have formed lasting bonds and stick together by supporting each other. They are gaining both physical and social benefits from exercise that reveal themselves through the conversations they have, the connections they make, and the friendships they build! You are welcome to drop in during business hours for a chat or a cup of herbal tea and see the studios, reception, waiting rooms, and facilities.
These classes will challenge and develop your core stability however the focus will be on the quality of movement rather than quantity. Pilates Principles teach us how to move and what to focus on.
The focus in these classes will be on understanding and applying traditional Pilates principles not just learning the exercises.
Pilates emphasises the strength & control of the pelvic floor which is a must to help prevent & treat Incontinence, now affecting over 1 million Australians. Up to 1 in 3 women experience these symptoms including urinary leakage when sneezing, coughing, laughing, playing sport or lifting.
Currently Pilates Mat Classes (with small equipment) are Tuesdays & Fridays at 9.30am. Beginners are welcome.

Mums Bubs Post Natal Pilates Classes HERE
Our Fundamental classes are designed for people who are completely new to Pilates, those wanting to revisit the basics or people with limitations due to injuries, No previous experience is needed and it is suitable for all fitness levels. You just need to bring yourself, an exercise mat and have a desire to learn & break through old movement & breathing patterns.
Also if this is your first class at the wellness Centre we need the Pre-Exercise Questionaire filled out and brought to your first class otherwise you can fill it out 15 minutes prior.
